2010 Moto Guzzi V7 Café Classic Review
With the 2008 introduction of the V7 Classic, Moto Guzzi continued its journey through time, as the cute little Italian number took up the lines and trends of the classic Café Racer style created in London (England that is, not Ontario) in the 60s: half handlebars, single-seat, set back foot rests, slim tank, naked styling, retro colours and minimalist instrumentation.

Around here, we spend enough time riding, working on and living with old motorcycles that we often forget what it’s like to ride new motorcycles. For the Classic Experience, we normally give readers an inside look at what it’s like to ride and live with old bikes.
But not this time. Instead, we thought it’d be fun to change things up a bit and share what it’s like to ride and live with a new, vintage-styled retro motorcycle, in this case the 2010 Moto Guzzi 7 Café Classic.

Moto Guzzi has many notable styling achievements on its résumé. Recently, for example, there’s the exotic Griso cruiser, and radical MGS-01 racebike. In this author’s2010 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic humble opinion, though, few of its efforts top the original 1967 V7 and subsequent V7 Sport. These machines had a simple but elegant style that relied mostly upon subtle curves in the fuel tank, side covers and seat, which makes the beauty of these two V-twins all the more remarkable. At some level Moto Guzzi must share that opinion today, because it has two newer bikes in the current lineup modeled after those V7s from four decades ago.

Láttak már lavinát? Ismerik az agyat is megremegtető hullámot, ahogy lezúdul és visz mindent, ami elé kerül? Aki messziről látja, az is tiszteli: a hegy haragja döbbenetes, minden érzékszerve ható pusztítás. Rettegi a szem, visszahúzódik a dobhártya, bőrünk belezsibbad, szánkban ott a félelem rozsdás íze.
A legendás olasz motorkerékpár azóta alaposan megizmosodott.
